AI spokesperson video: make a photo talk, or a clip say new words

Make an AI spokesperson or talking-head video: a face from a photo or your cast, a script or a recording, and lip sync. Plus when a UGC ad is the better pick.

A spokesperson video is the simplest talking video there is: one face, one voice, the words you choose. make.ad has two pages for it. Talking Avatars makes a face in a picture say your script. Lipsync does that too, and can also take a clip of someone already talking and move their lips to new audio.

01From a photo: Talking Avatars

Pick a face, give it words, and get a talking video ready to post.

  1. Pick the face: someone from your cast, a picture you made on make.ad, or an upload. A clear, front-facing face with the mouth visible works best.
  2. Give it words: type a script and pick a voice to read it (each one can be played first), upload a recording, or pick a take you already made.
  3. Pick the model: Kling AI Avatar, Kling AI Avatar Pro or InfiniteTalk, each with its own longest recording and sizes.
  4. Tick the consent box, check the quote, and render. The recording sets the length and the price.

02From a clip: Lipsync’s video to video

If you already have footage of someone talking to camera, Lipsync’s Video to video re-syncs their lips to a new recording on Volcengine Lip Sync. It takes up to 4 minutes of audio, works best with one person facing the camera, and returns the clip at its own size. It is how you fix a line after a shoot, or put a translated read on the original picture.

03No face yet? Design one

The AI Influencer page builds a person from the traits you choose (face, body, style) and gives you their character sheet, which you can add to your cast and then put in motion on Talking Avatars or in an ad. Built from traits alone, the person is an original character; if you start from someone’s photo, the page asks you to confirm you have their permission.

04Write it to be said

  • Short sentences, one idea each. Read it out loud and cut whatever you stumble on.
  • Front-load the point: the first line should make someone stay for the second.
  • Spell out what a voice might misread: numbers, prices, product names.
  • Keep it under a minute for a feed; a longer explainer is fine for a product page or onboarding.

05Spokesperson video or UGC ad?

A spokesperson video is one face and one recording, made in one render. A UGC ad on make.ad is a whole ad: the person is drawn for it in the place you describe, the script is written with you, and the edit is cut like a real post, with jump cuts between lines. Choose the spokesperson video when you have the face and the words; choose a UGC ad when you want make.ad to make the ad.

Questions

Can I use my own photo?
Yes, if it is you or you have the person’s consent. Upload it, or add it to your cast to reuse it.
Can I use my own voice?
Yes. Upload a recording, and the face is lip-synced to it.
How long can a talking video be?
It depends on the model: each has its own longest recording, shown on the page before you render. Video to video takes up to four minutes of audio.
Can the spokesperson speak another language?
Yes. Write the script in that language, or translate an existing video with Language swap, which keeps each speaker’s voice and matches the lips.
